This week our theme was spring and bugs. Students enjoyed having a garden shop in dramatic play where they sold flowers, garden gloves, tools, and seeds. They wrote receipts, took messages, and worked with play money at the cash register. In science students explored the life-cycle of a butterfly. We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and created our own life-cycle models using pasta. The students learned about primary and secondary colors and used M&M candies for a color mixing experiment. The students used only primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) to create rainbow flowers that can be viewed in our hallway. We studied two letters this week, Dd and Ii. It was a fun and busy week!
