Valentine Fun

Last week we celebrated Valentine's Day and friendship.  Our letter was Vv.  The children were very busy during center time creating valentine cards in the writing center for friends and teachers.  The students explored symmetry and learned how to cut out a heart by folding paper in half and drawing half of a heart on the fold.  Our dramatic play area was a post office.  For science we discussed our 'real' hearts and what our hearts do for our body.  We also made beautiful mixed media hearts to decorate our classroom for our Valentine's Day parties!  Everyone enjoyed the classroom parties where students passed out valentine cards and decorated photo frames.  A big thank you goes out to all of the parents who helped with the parties, they were a big success!
